The Terrace at Trump Goes “So Chic” for the Al Fresco Dining Season
On Wednesday, May 16 at 2:30 p.m., The Terrace at Trump will open its doors to guests, officially marking the beginning of Trump Chicago’s al fresco dining season. For Summer 2012, the 16th floor outdoor dining venue – which has become one of the city’s most sought-after destinations since opening in 2009 – will feature a sophisticated, lively “So Chic” vibe that influences all aspects of The Terrace at Trump – from the décor and staff uniforms to the food and beverage program, expertly crafted by Trump Chicago Executive Chef Michael Fiddler and Executive Pastry Chef Sarah Kosikowski. In addition, The Terrace at Trump will offer eight additional tables, increasing occupancy up to 196 seats (32 more than in 2011) to alleviate wait times during high-demand periods.
While full details are forthcoming, Chefs Fiddler and Kosikowski will present menus that invite diners to create the al fresco experience that best suits their preferences during warm weather gatherings, including fresh seafood platters, seasonally-driven sushi rolls, exciting, globally-inspired tacos, sharable plates, and sweet temptations – all meant to share – as well as playful cocktails featuring exotic liquors and handcrafted mixers, locally-produced bottles of beer, and wines from around the world.
The Terrace at Trump is open daily from 2:30 to 11:30 p.m., and seating is accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Travelers may call (312) 588-8600 for more information, or visit www.trumpchicagohotel.com.
A Progressive Perspective on Hotel Dining: The New Face of Sixteen
Guests looking to experience Chicago’s most exciting dining destination need to look no further than the hotel’s 16th floor, where Executive Chef Thomas Lents and the Sixteen team are re-awakening the city’s culinary scene. Since his appointment this past January, Chef Lents has introduced exciting new menus that offer a progressive interpretation of French-inspired American cuisine, showcasing a commitment to sourcing only the world’s highest quality ingredients. Dishes that have quickly become diner favorites include Maple and Citrus Glazed Black Cod with salad of pickled daikon and watermelon radish with a light navet puree; Shirred Farm Egg with housemade chorizo and salt cod espuma; Fresh Coriander Scented Spring Lamb with mélange of spring onions, fava beans, fiddle head ferns and green almonds with a coriander lemon cloud; and Olive Oil Poached Chatham Cod with variations of fresh chickpeas, cured chorizo and marcona almonds with a salt cod espuma and orange saffron lobster boullion; among many others.
Chef Lents brings more than two decades of experience working in some of the country’s most celebrated establishments, most recently as the chef de cuisine of the three Michelin star-rated Joel Robuchon at The Mansion in Las Vegas - the only American to hold such an esteemed title. He invites diners to order from his a la carte menu, designed for a three-course meal, or his seven- or twelve-course tasting menus, which can be finished with a sweet bite from Executive Pastry Chef Sarah Kosikowski.

What’s New on The Riverwalk
Since its debut in 2010, the Riverwalk at Trump International has become a haven for Chicagoans and visitors alike who head to the stunning, professionally manicured park to relax during their lunch break or gather with friends to watch the sailboats glide down the Chicago River. This summer, guests can take advantage of new activities that showcase the versatility of the space, which include:
- Launch of the Wendella Dock. Beginning in May, guests joining the Chicago River Architecture Tours by Wendella Sightseeing Co. Inc. – a Chicago-based family-owned sightseeing and tourism business entering its 77th season – will experience the convenience and ease of embarkation at the new Wendella Dock, now located on the Riverwalk, steps from the hotel’s front doors. Wendella’s tours are available seven days a week. For more information about the company, to view the 2012 schedule, or to book a tour, please visit www.wendellaboats.com.

Beginning this spring, Trump Chicago will escort guests around the city in two new house cars – a stunning, custom-made black-on-black 2013 Audi A8L and A7, each offering in-car WiFi mobile hotspot functionality, a Bose surround system, and other amenities that allow travelers to work or play en route to their destination. Use of the house car will be complimentary for guests who reserve suite accommodations.
Midwest Debut of Anthony Cristiano
Staying perfectly coiffed during visits to the Windy City takes talent, but hairstylist-to-the-stars Anthony Cristiano will help keep every strand in place upon the June 2012 debut of the first outpost of his signature salon brand, located on the mezzanine level of the Riverwalk, accessible via the hotel’s main lobby. After visiting The Spa at Trump for its state-of-the-art facilities and treatments, guests can head to see Anthony Cristiano to achieve the perfect blowout before their evening event, test their bridal updo before the big day, or simply get a quick touchup, all while marveling at up-close views of the activity taking place along the Chicago River. The deluxe 3,400 square-foot salon will feature two teams of cutting and coloring specialists, as well as make-up application, manicure and pedicure treatments. The salon’s opening date and menu details are forthcoming.
