Trump SoHo Backgrounder
Trump SoHo® New York
NEW YORK – Trump SoHo New York, the first Trump Hotel Collection property in downtown Manhattan and the neighborhood’s only AAA Five Diamond rated hotel, opened its doors on April 9, 2010. Located on Spring Street in the fashionable SoHo (South of Houston) neighborhood and in close proximity to the posh enclaves of TriBeCa and the West Village, Trump SoHo is just steps from Manhattan’s world-class galleries, restaurants, boutiques, and nightlife. Boasting unrivaled views of the city’s spectacular skyline, Hudson River, Statue of Liberty, Freedom Tower, and Empire State Building, Trump SoHo rises 46 stories with 391 elegant guestrooms and suites, an 11,000 square-foot Spa at Trump featuring New York’s only luxury hammam, Koi SoHo restaurant, the seasonal poolside Bar d’Eau, sophisticated meeting and event space, and the signature services of Trump Attaché.
Trump Hotel Collection, which embodies the vision of internationally renowned Donald J. Trump and his three grown children – Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric – has been raising the bar on the high-end travel experience with a style of customized service unmatched in the market.
Old meets new at the Trump SoHo where contemporary modern décor combines with five-star service reminiscent of the grand hotels of the early twentieth century. Establishing a new paradigm of design, Trump SoHo couples the works of Handel Architects, who imagined the 46-story shimmering glass tower, and the Rockwell Group, creators of the contemporary interior spaces. Inspired by the cobblestone streets and architecture of the historic SoHo neighborhood, Trump SoHo’s design balances materials and finishes that are both raw and rich, such as the juxtaposition of oxidized bronze with highly finished leathers and walnut screens. Trump SoHo’s overall design emphasizes the verticality of the space, including the two-story conservatory lobby featuring tall, wood-grain screen walls and slender columns. Additionally, Trump SoHo is the only hotel in New York to feature custom furnishings by Fendi Casa, the chic home décor line by the eponymous fashion label known for its exclusive clothing and handbags.
Adjacent to Trump SoHo, a beautifully landscaped Urban Plaza for both hotel guests and area residents extends from Spring Street to Dominick Street, providing a tranquil setting for relaxation.
Trump SoHo’s 391 residential-style guest rooms – more than a third of which are suites – blend classically-inspired interiors with contemporary New York design, each featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and unrivaled views. Trump SoHo offers some of the city’s most spacious accommodations with king guestrooms starting at 422 square feet and suites ranging from 682 square feet to more than 2,000 square feet. The hotel offers 245 king guestrooms; 132 one-bedroom suites—many of which can be combined to create spacious two-bedroom suites; three one-of-a-kind spa suites; two SoHo two-bedroom suites; eight spectacular two-bedroom penthouse suites; and the duplex penthouse, which is a two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom suite with an expansive terrace granting breathtaking views of Manhattan.
Thoughtfully designed by the Rockwell Group, Trump SoHo’s spacious guest accommodations feature custom furnishings by Fendi Casa, including sofas, chairs, headboards, side tables, and a beautiful settee at the end of the bed. All guestrooms and suites showcase custom-made Italian bedding by Bellino along with each guest’s preference from the signature Trump Pillow Menu. Throw pillows with a eucalyptus motif and cashmere throws by Aviva Stanoff lend subtle accents of blue and gray, and hand-tufted wool carpeting adds texture. In suites, a sliding hearth features built-in lighting and shelves, creating a separation between the living area and bedroom for guest privacy. Oversized bathrooms are fitted with custom-designed fixtures and hardware, a standalone rainshower, a separate soaking tub, and a vanity wrapped in hand-stitched leather topped with slate-like marble and hand-matched Turkish Marmara stone gracing the walls.
Trump SoHo’s guestrooms and suites feature the innovative Control4 Suite System, allowing guests to easily control in-room lighting and temperature, televisions, three dual-line telephones, wireless high-speed internet access, music, and curtains, all through the convenience of a bedside console or single remote.
The Spa at Trump
Designed by DiGuiseppe Architects and located on the seventh and eighth floors of Trump SoHo, the 11,000 square-foot Spa at Trump features nine private treatment rooms and wet rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center with Technogym equipment, indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, and an extensive menu of treatments and services. Inspired by Ivanka Trump’s travels in Istanbul, The Spa at Trump features the first authentic luxury hammam in New York City, affording spa-goers a rare opportunity to experience the traditional cultural bathing rituals of Turkey and the Middle East.
Every moment of the Spa at Trump experience caters to the individual guest’s desires, expressed through his or her individually selected TrumpPersonal Intention—Calm, Balance, Purify, Heal or Revitalize—that corresponds to a Trump Signature Gemstone Spa Treatment featuring precious gemstone-infused oils. The Spa at Trump also features an exclusive arrangement with Kate Somerville, bringing the skincare products and treatments of this leading aesthetician and favorite of Hollywood celebrities to spa-goers.
Guests seeking the ultimate in relaxation may opt for one of three luxurious Spa Suites, offering access to a connecting couples-sized treatment room, an in-room yoga kit, and additional exclusive spa amenities, including a private, in-room sauna in one of the suites.
Trump SoHo offers three exquisite dining spaces – Koi SoHo, CafeMezz, and Bar d’Eau – as well as 24-hour in-room dining. Koi SoHo, which debuted in September 2012 and is open weekdays for lunch and dinner and weekends for dinner only, features an imaginative menu of contemporary Japanese cuisine infused with California accents. One of only five Koi restaurants worldwide, Koi SoHo welcomes diners into a natural oasis within an urban landscape, featuring a sophisticated interior setting that is modern and energetic yet Zen-inspired. CafeMezz is located on the second level of Koi Soho. Located on the seventh floor of the hotel, Bar d’Eau is a seasonal indoor and outdoor urban retreat that opens out onto a 6,000-square-foot pool deck. Offering light fare and libations, Bar d’Eau is open to the public in the evening and is an ideal destination for sharing alfresco cocktails and enjoying the vibe of SoHo, including an azure Italian mosaic-lined pool and full-size Bocce court.
Meetings & Events
Boasting more than 12,000 square feet of stylish and customizable indoor and outdoor event space—more than any other hotel in SoHo—Trump SoHo provides the perfect backdrop for downtown’s most spectacular weddings, social events, and corporate meetings.
The entire third floor of Trump SoHo is dedicated to five flexible meeting and event spaces, including the 3,894 square-foot SoHo Ballroom, which is downtown’s only luxury hotel ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows; the 2,224 square-foot Hudson Square room, which overlooks Spring Street and connects to the 1,026 square-foot covered Spring Terrace, showcasing the landscaped Urban Plaza; the 692 square-foot TriBeCa room, which overlooks Dominick Street; and the 329 square-foot Trump Boardroom. Located on the 46th floor, the 1,600 square-foot SoHi offers one of the ultimate event spaces in Manhattan with 15-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and sweeping skyline views of the Hudson River, Statue of Liberty, and Freedom Tower.
Trump SoHo is outfitted with the latest in audio-visual technology, including video conferencing, high-speed wired and wireless internet access, and projection screens.
