The Faces of Trump Hotels
Our associates represent the best of the best in the hospitality industry. Each has an inspiring story to tell. Here are just a few.
Meet Suzie Mills
General Manager, Trump International Hotel & Tower New York
In 2007, 11 years after joining Trump International Hotel & Tower New York as front office manager, Suzannah (Suzie) Mills made history as the youngest-ever general manager of a New York City hotel. Her long career with Trump began in 1996, three months before the hotel's debut at One Central Park West. Along the way, Suzie's path to the top included promotions to rooms division manager and assistant general manager.
Thanks to a team attitude that starts at the very top, Suzie's hotel posts an impressively high employee retention rate, with many associates, like the general manager herself, on the job from day one.
For Suzie, hospitality has been a life-long endeavor. The British native worked at her parents' hotel in Wales from the age of 10, and launched her career at London's Savoy Hotel before arriving in New York in 1994.
"I love working at Trump because of the incredible team of people. Their passion, drive and loyalty are unwavering. They amaze me every day. I also love being a part of Trump Hotels, this very special, family-run hotel portfolio. There are no luxury hotel brands left that have the direct involvement of the family whose name is on the marquee."
Mark Calvo, Facilities Manager
Trump International Hotel Waikiki
Mark was selected for the opening team of the Waikiki hotel as an engineer in 2009. Two years later, he was promoted to repairs and maintenance supervisor and, early in 2013, took on the challenging role of facilities manager. Mark says of his work environment, "Hawaiians have a saying, ‘We're all paddling in the same canoe.' We accept that we all succeed or fail together, and we share the same vision to succeed by displaying passion, drive and enthusiasm in everything we do."
Marisela Escobar, Banquets Server
Trump International Hotel & Tower Panama
"Something really interesting happens to me every morning. From my house I can see the building from my window when I wake, and the first thought that comes to my head is, 'Wow, I can't believe I work there.' The Trump International Hotel & Tower Panama is an icon, not only architecturally, but also because of the people who work in it; they are shining stars. We all believe in giving no less than 100%."
