NEW YORK (Sept. 14, 2012) – On Sept. 14, Koi Group - the leader in contemporary Japanese cuisine – introduced the company’s fifth restaurant worldwide at Trump SoHo® New York. Koi SoHo offers an innovative take on the art of food in a luxurious and sensual dining oasis.

Koi SoHo’s intricate design evokes a sense of balance and serenity. Conceptualized by Koi’s Design Team, the décor reflects a natural oasis within an urban landscape. Key features of the 4,291 sq. ft. double-story interior include floor-to-ceiling windows, custom hand blown glass chandeliers and wood columns with vertical garden accents. The main dining room incorporates elements of the rainforest through hand chiseled black stones, warm walnut woods and landscaped exotic accents that cascade down the columns. A dramatic spiral staircase leads to the second floor with three additional spaces including the mezzanine dining room, private dining room and mezzanine lounge. Illuminated by candlelight, the natural and intricate details create an elegant atmosphere, while earth-toned colors and modern highlights result in a stunning sense of harmony.
Executive Chef Robb Lucas deconstructs traditional Japanese preparations and respectfully re-imagines them by infusing modern California accents. Fans of Koi’s signature dishes will be excited to find their favorites offered downtown, including Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna ($16); Baked Crab Rolls ($9); Hamachi Fusion with Soy-Citrus and Truffle Essence ($22) and Miso-Bronzed Black Cod ($28). The menu also features tempting new additions exclusive to the SoHo location. Standouts include Pan Seared Scallops on a Crab Cake ($34); Grilled Salmon with Honey Balsamic Glaze, Tomato Jam and Scallion Ginger Sauce ($26) and Roasted Shishito Peppers Stuffed with Shrimp ($16), all artfully plated by Koi’s skilled culinary team.
The well-thought out wine list is global, featuring domestic and international selections. Wine bottles range from $42 to $290, and glass pours are available from $11 to $20. A selection of Ports, Cognacs and Armagnac’s are also available. The creative and tasty cocktails including specialty, classic, tropical and sake inspired blends provoke the adventurous side of one’s palette. A house specialty is the Koi-Tini featuring Cointreau, pomegranate juice, orange juice and sparkling wine ($15).
